Do you ever feel like you don’t belong? Sometimes when we are making big life changes, it’s easy to feel like you don’t fit in. I know for many of you, this rings true. I hear it at Junction City CrossFit all the time.

“I’m not a real CrossFit athlete because…(insert 1 million different reasons why here).”

And I’ll be honest, I feel that way sometimes too. CrossFit has been phenomenal in changing our perspective on fitness, health and how we should look and in particular, how women should look, and for that, I’m grateful. But I’d be lying to say that those changes can and has brought on its own issues. Comparison is the thief of joy, and man, I’ve let myself be robbed way too often. Don’t let joy be robbed from you. Strolling through IG and Facebook, it’s easy to feel like you’re not an athlete. “I don’t look like person so-and-so,” but YOU are a real CrossFit athlete. Rx, scaled, modified, next to your name on the whiteboard doesn’t make you more or less of an athlete. Small or large build, young or old, you’re an athlete. Your health and fitness journey is yours alone. Be proud of where you started and where you are heading. Don’t let comparison rob you of that.
